A Flood of Emotion

We are getting to the end of a very stressful week in Colorado.  The news reports went from a stationary front to a biblical rain to a 100, then 500 then 1000 year flood.  The flooding is still unfolding as the water, in torrents from the high country, continues to make its way east through the state, flooding town after town in areas where people did not even know that they were close to the rivers.

Our family was very lucky and suffered no losses in this event.  But for those who did, we keep them in our thoughts.  In the end it is the loss of loved ones, the destruction of homes and livelihoods, beautiful landscapes altered forever,  precious treasures, photos and dreams washed away in a deluge of epic proportions that will stay with us for many years to come.

  1. A most frightening experience and your pictures show just how terrible things were, and still are, there. Apart from the terrible loss of life, some things are just irreplaceable. All those memories! I can’t even begin to imagine how awful that must be. We wish everyone well there and hope that things improve soon.
