Random Thoughts

I usually write my blogs on Wednesday, but yesterday I participated in the blackout by WordPress and other internet sites in protest of the bills in Congress (SOPA/PIPA) that could severely impact the free exchange of thoughts and ideas on the internet.

I do have a few random thoughts from the week, however.

  • Stop censorship.
  • To the cruise line captain who abandoned his ship:  “To see the right and not do it is cowardice.”  (Confucius)
  • To Paula Deen:  Paula had a “teachable moment” opportunity when she learned of her Type II Diabetes diagnosis.  Unfortunately that moment was 3 years ago.
  • I heard a representative from AARP state that Baby Boomers hate to be called “seniors”.  So what do we want to be called?
  • I am reading Never Say Die  The Myth and Marketing of the New Old Age, by Susan Jacoby.  It is an eye-opening book for anyone to read.

Great thoughts! Still trying to decide what I’d like to be called.
