Chalk One Up For The Mature Woman

If you are a woman who is fifty or older you know what I am talking about.  It seems that the more grey we have in our hair the more color we lose in our face. Our eyebrows get thinner or disappear altogether.  Men seem to be just the opposite.  As they get older everything gets to be more.  Their eyebrows get bushier, ear hair and nose hair starts to show up.

If we women color our hair we always have to be on the look out for the right color.  If it is too light, it washes us out.  But if it is too dark it ages us and (we have all seen this) it can even make us look a little scary!

Wearing make-up is also tricky.  As we lose color in our face, the tendency is to add more make-up.  But, we know where that can lead.

So, I was pleasantly surprised to see Lisa Eldridge, a celebrity and international make-up artist from England, offer a make-up tutorial for older women.  I think that the best part is that the video is for women who have not had any work done on their faces, no Botox, no face-lifts, no fillers.  The model has laugh lines and wrinkles and age spots just like most of us do.  The tutorial is thirteen minutes, but the result is great.  So here is the video.

I find wrinkles devastatingly attractive. So I’m in the minority—though 26 and male. But maybe not. Older women have a history of being seen as attractive. And there are a lot of signs that that’s becoming prevalent again.

It’s nice to know older women can still look attractive & there is someone out there to show us the way to do it properly!
